The Parish of Monte Gordo held, on July 6, a preparatory meeting for the World Youth Day (WYD) Lisbon 2023 with the motto "Pope Francis and WYD/2023", where gathered young people from the Diocese of Algarve.

Aura Miguel, a journalist from Rádio Renascença, hosted the initiative and also presented her latest book: "A long way to Lisbon", in which she talks about the 13 World Youth Days she has attended. The Vatican journalist, who began her career at Rádio Renascença in 1985, left the  message to all young people to participate in WYD Lisbon 2023, because this will be "a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity" and "it will not be repeated again", revealed the newspaper Folha de Domingo.

The journalist also said that, "if he [the Pope] comes, it is because he has something precious to entrust to you. I don't know what it is, but I think it's worth expecting great things from what the Pope brings". "The Pope always gives a message and the messages are absolutely demanding" for young people, added Aura Miguel, who emphasised the Holy Father's trust in everyone.
