Registration
Registration for WYD Lisbon 2023 can be done online, via the registration platform, until 23:59 on August 4th. It will also be possible to register in person at the Welcome Center, located at the Uniersidade Católica Portuguesa, until the 5th of August, during its opening hours (from 9 am to 7 pm).
Note: Credentials and the Pilgrim Kit must always be picked up at the Welcome Center.
The invitation to participate in the WYD Lisbon 2023 is destined to the young people from all over the world. The registration allows access to all the WYD Lisbon 2023 events, as well as ensuring the following advantages for each pilgrim: personal accident insurance, free public transportation during the WYD and to the Pilgrim’s Kit. Also, depending on the type of package chosen (information on Packages here), pilgrims will receive accommodation, food and a set of information necessary for a full experience in these unique days.
Each participant who registers for the WYD Lisbon 2023 collaborates in a very important way in the organization of this great meeting. Through the payment of the participation contribution, whose value depends on the type of package chosen, the participant helps to cover the expenses associated with the organization of this great meeting. The registration is also necessary for the Local Organizing Committee to properly plan the reception of pilgrims, including accommodation, food and transportation.
Registration process
The registration of the participants for the WYD Lisbon 2023 is done online, by filling in a registration form, available in five languages (Portuguese, English, Italian, French and Spanish). The registration’s instructions will also be available for download on the registration platform.
The registration system allows for individual or group registration. However, very small groups and individual pilgrims are strongly encouraged not to sign up for themselves, but to join larger groups organized by parishes, dioceses or other communities. Sharing these days in larger groups will definitely allow you to live this experience in a richer and more complete way.
The registration system does not require the introduction of personal data of all pilgrims, being only requested more detailed information regarding the responsible and deputy responsible for the group, priests, disabled people and persons requiring a visa to enter Portugal. Information is also requested on the number of minors and people over 30 years old who are part of the group, as well as the date and the transportation for the arrival in Lisbon and the departure after the end of WYD Lisbon 2023.
In the case of pilgrims with disabilities, it is very important to fill out the specific form for people with disabilities that is available in the group registration form of the registration platform. This form should indicate the type of disability of the pilgrim and all the information that will help to better prepare their welcome and participation in WYD Lisbon 2023 (e.g. if the pilgrim needs a bed to sleep or if he/she can sleep on the floor, if he/she needs a wheelchair, if he/she has a guide dog, if he/she knows sign language, etc.). A text box is also available on the form to add extra information in the case of additional indications or needs. The more detailed and complete the information provided, the easier it will be for the organisation of WYD Lisbon 2023 to prepare pilgrims’ welcome.
All questions related to the registration of the participants should be sent to geral@lisboa2023.org.
The priests sign up as participants in the WYD Lisbon 2023 together with the group who they belong to, through the online registration platform.
During the registration process, the person in charge of the group indicates the number of priests that are part of the group and for each one of them fills out a specific registration form. In this form, it will be necessary to answer specific questions that are necessary for the accreditation of the priest, so that he can participate in the concelebration of Holy Mass and in the ministry of Confession. It will also be necessary to attach a passport-style photo and a scanned copy of the declaration of clerical status signed and stamped by the bishop or higher of the order (the declaration, in PDF format, will be available for download on the registration platform).
The deadline for priests and deacons to complete their registration in the platform and upload documentation for accreditation (events and concelebrations) is June 25th. After this date, all priests and deacons will be registered as pilgrims only.
All questions regarding the registration of priests can be directed to clero@lisboa2023.org.
