Under the warm Lisbon sun, various parts of the city became an inspiring meeting point for young from different parts of the world at the Rise Up Encounters. Those in attendance included 18-year-old Tamo, a young man from France, who shared how the Encounter has given him a deeper understanding of God's message and strengthened his faith.

However, the most enriching aspect of this experience for him was the consolidation of meaningful friendships. Tamo said that his decision to participate in World Youth Day (WYD) Lisbon 2023 was not only based on the enrichment of his own faith, but also on strengthening the spiritual bonds with his friends on this common journey. 

Diverse cultures and experiences have become intertwined at this time in Lisbon, in an atmosphere of fellowship, enriching each person's pursuit for spirituality. At the end of the Encounter, Tamo and the other young people said their goodbyes with the certainty that this experience will remain in their hearts, reminding them of the importance of faith and friendship as they travel their personal path towards a future of hope.
