The Rise UP Encounters are the new model of World Youth Day (WYD) catechesis that challenge young people to reflect on the major themes launched by the pontificate of Pope Francis: Integral Ecology, Social Friendship and Mercy.

To better live the synodal journey underway in the Universal Church, WYD Lisbon 2023 will feature three Rise UP Encounters, which will take place on 2, 3 and 4 August. The Rise Up Encounters will take place in more than 270 venues, including churches and other places close to the Pilgrims' reception spaces. They will be organised by language, with meetings available in more than 30 languages, to provide spaces for reflection, listening and sharing.
