John Paul II Foundation for Youth at the WYD headquarters
Daniele Bruno, President of the John Paul II Foundation for Youth, visited today, 29 June, the headquarters of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) for World Youth Day (WYD) Lisbon 2023.
The visit had as its theme the preparation of the Fourth International Conference on the Care of Creation, which is being prepared by the Foundation in collaboration with World Youth Day. As Daniele Bruno explained in a relaxed moment to some COL volunteers, the main objective is for "young people to reflect on their lifestyle and understand how they can change it to care for the Common House".

This conference will take place at the Catholic University of Portugal in Lisbon on July 31, one day before the start of WYD Lisbon 2023. This will be a moment of dialogue on the care of the Common House, with the reflection of Pope Francis' Encyclical Laudato Si'.
The conference will aim to promote a dialogue between young people and experts in five areas of human life: economy, education and family life, natural resources, politics and technology. It will be an opportunity to reflect on the lifestyles currently adopted and to search for new lifestyles that can meet the cultural, spiritual and educational challenges of present and future generations, inspiring concrete and lasting actions for the preservation of the environment.
A novelty in this congress will be the creation of immersive virtual spaces, using metaverse technology, seeking to make participation in the event more inclusive and accessible, so that "those who cannot physically go can be present at it," said Daniele Bruno.
