4th International Conference on Care for Creation
On 31 July, the John Paul II Foundation for Youth, in collaboration with the World Youth Day (WYD), will promote the fourth International Conference on the Care for Creation, which will take place in Lisbon. With the theme "The youth's commitment to integral ecology: lifestyles for a new humanity", the event will bring together young university students, representatives of Episcopal Conferences, international movements and associations, and Catholic universities, who will be in Lisbon to participate in WYD Lisbon 2023.
This moment will take place at the Catholic University of Portugal in Lisbon, and will aim to promote dialogue between young people and experts in five areas of human life: economy, education and family life, natural resources, politics and technology. It will be an opportunity to reflect on the lifestyles currently adopted and to look for new lifestyles that can meet the cultural, spiritual and educational challenges of present and future generations, inspiring concrete and lasting actions for the preservation of the environment.
A novelty in this congress will be the creation of immersive virtual spaces, using metaverse technology, seeking to make participation in the event more inclusive and accessible.
The fourth International Conference on Care for Creation comes in response to the desire expressed by many young people during the spiritual preparation for WYD Lisbon 2023, who highlighted the importance of integral ecology as one of the central themes of the current pontificate and expressed their desire to be personally involved in this area.
