Reflection
Here I am, Jesus, before You, as I am.
You know my story, You know my thoughts.
You are aware of all my steps.
You have brought me here today. Why did you choose me?
You wrap me in Your love and hold my hand when I fall.
How can I praise You and thank You for showing me the way,
Without ever forcing me to walk it?
I thank You for the many wonders of my life,
Even the ones I still can't understand.
Here I am, Jesus.
I want to thank You for all those You have placed in my life,
Those who walk with me each day and make me touch the beauty that dwells in it.
I want to thank You for my family and friends,
Those who remind me of Your name and Your teachings.
I thank You for all those who live this Vigil with me,
The gift of the Church in my life and this World Youth Journey.
I make present, in this evening, those who could not participate in this Day, those who are sick, those who suffer, the abandoned, the homeless, those who cannot find meaning in their lives and are thinking of suicide, the refugees, the prisoners, the prostitutes and the drug addicts.
I ask You also for the persecuted Christians, the peoples at war, the martyred children, and all those who, because of the selfishness of men, will not see the light of day.
Lord, have I been making the right choices?
I remember the crossroads of my path.
Have I been truly free?
"You are greater than my heart and know everything" (1 Jn 3:20).
You never give up on me.
Today I am in this Journey, in Lisbon,
where once again I have found You.
Help me to be a missionary,
To be Your witness,
To bring the truth and proclaim Your word.
And never let me forget that none of this is worth anything if I don't have Love.
Thank You, Jesus.
Canticle
Anima Christi, sanctifica me
Corpus Christi, salva me
Sanguis Christi, inebria me
Aqua lateris Christi, lava me
Passio Christi, conforta me
O bone Jesu, exaudi me
Intra vulnera tua absconde, absconde me
Ne permittas a te me separari
Ab hoste maligno defende me
In hora mortis meæ voca me, voca me
Et iube me venire ad te,
Ut cum sanctis tuis laudem te
Per infinita sæcula sæculorum. Amen.
