Transports and Mobility
Transport system
The city of Lisbon and its surrounding areas have a good public transport system that will be a key part of travelling during WYD Lisbon 2023. Together with mobility partners, solutions have been set for pilgrims, so that the use of all means of transport is easy and takes into account the peaks of use, the most environmentally sustainable options and the city’s capacity.
Registered pilgrims will be given a pass named "Navegante" that allows them to use all public service companies for regular passenger transport in all 18 municipalities of the Lisbon Metropolitan Area (AML). More details at navegante.pt.
According to the enrolment pack, the "Navegante" passes have a limited duration with a start and end date that cannot be changed, i.e. they will only be valid during the period of use indicated below. The typology is indicated on the front of the card.
| TYPOLOGY | PERIOD OF USE |
| 4 days | 4 to 7 August |
| 8 days | 31 July to 7 August |
| 9 days A/B* | 30/31 July to 7/8 August |
| 16 days | 23 July to 7 August |
*For volunteers only
Important note: damaged or lost passes will not be replaced.
Accessibility and reduced mobility
Solutions will be presented for pilgrims with disabilities when this implies reduced mobility. For groups that have identified pilgrims with disabilities, this will be analysed on a case-by-case basis. Additional questions regarding this topic can be directed to pilgrimswithdisability@lisboa2023.org.

Transport and recommended access routes to the events
You can reach the event venues on foot or by public transport. We discourage the use of private transport, taking into account the restrictions resulting from the mobility plan established for each of the moments of WYD Lisbon 2023.
Restricted access
National and local authorities have defined mobility plans that include areas of conditioned access.
You can find below the documents of each entity, with detailed information on the respective restrictions on road traffic, changes to traffic, public transport and parking:
