Pray for WYD
In the context of the collaboration protocol between World Youth Day (WYD) Lisbon 2023 and the Pope's Worldwide Prayer Network, the digital platform Click To Pray offers a monthly set of prayer proposals in preparation for WYD Lisbon 2023.
Thinking of the youth of the whole world, the Portuguese Click To Pray team also prepares the morning and afternoon prayer proposals on the 23rd of every month. These meditations are inspired by Pope Francis' reflections and speeches to young people throughout his pontificate and are translated into all the languages of the Click To Pray platform: Portuguese, Spanish, French, English, Italian, German, Chinese, Vietnamese and Japanese.
Let us pray together for WYD Lisbon 2023!
August 23
I thank the Lord for the fruits of WYD Lisbon 2023 for the Church, for
those that have already been seen and those that are yet to come to
light. "Take what is yours and go" (Mt 20:14). Two weeks after WYD, what
still resonates with me? What words, images and gestures move me
forward? What challenges do they pose? Today I will redouble my efforts
towards the conversion that WYD has brought about in me. With Mary, I
offer this day in thanksgiving for the fruits of WYD Lisbon 2023.
Our Father
July 23
Thank you, Lord, for this Sunday that now begins. "The kingdom of heaven may be likened to a man who sowed good seed in his field" (Mt 13:24). The best seed is the seed of charity. Today, on World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly, I will take care of those who came before me in the great adventure of life on my path of holiness. On the eve of the World Youth Day with Pope Francis, I offer with Mary the works of this day for WYD Lisbon 2023.
Our Father
June 23
I thank the Lord for the greatest treasures he has given me: friendship and love. "For where your treasure is, there also will your heart be" (Mt 6:21). So many times I let myself be dazzled by the riches of this world, and I am content with what is fleeting. May I not forget the true treasure without which my life would have no meaning. That treasure is God, and He becomes tangible in my relationships. I offer this day for WYD Lisbon 2023, through the intercession of Mary.
Our Father
May 23
I give thanks for this new day in union with God's Love. "Everything of mine is yours and everything of yours is mine, and I have been glorified in them" (Jn 17:10). True life is union with God, becoming one with Him, letting Him be God in me, the God of my feeling, thinking, and acting, who is my Father, my brother, my Love and my All. Today I will live giving myself, willing to be like Him. With Mary, I offer this day for WYD Lisbon 2023 so that this meeting with Pope Francis may be fruitful.
Hail Mary
April 23
On this first day of Vocation Week and on the third Sunday of Easter, I give thanks for the gifts that the Lord has placed in my heart. "While he was with them at table, he took bread, said the blessing, broke it, and gave it to them" (Lk 24:30). Today I will joyfully share my gifts, leaving in each one the imprint of the Lord that I carry with me. With Mary, I offer this day for WYD Lisbon 2023, the meeting of Pope Francis with the young people.
Hail Mary
March 23
I give thanks to the Lord for the light of this new day. "He was a burning and shining lamp, and for a while you were content to rejoice in his light" (Jn 5:35). In this walk towards World Youth Day, Jesus asks me that I be a testament to His love and that I be a light to others. Today I will be a lighthouse where it seems there is only darkness. With Mary, I offer my day for WYD Lisbon 2023.
Hail Mary
February 23
I am grateful for the opportunity to grow closer to the Lord this Lent. "What profit is there for one to gain the whole world yet lose or forfeit himself?" (Lk 9:25). Saint Ignatius of Loyola tells us: "Not much knowledge fills up and satisfies the soul but feeling and liking things internally." Today I will be attentive to the subtle touch of the Lord, particularly through the people around me. Wherever I go He is present and calls me to love. With Mary, I offer this day for World Youth Day 2023 towards which we are moving steadily.
Hail Mary
January 23
I thank the Lord for this new day and the gift of my faith that he gives me. "And if a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand" (Mk 3:25). The Church is a big house, a huge family. There are many paths to holiness, but there is only one destination: our God. We are all on the way to God, who loves us infinitely. Today I will focus on the beauty of the Church with intentions for communion with others. I offer my day, with Mary, for Christian unity, a special intention of Pope Francis for this week, and for WYD 2023, a celebration of communion between him and all the young people of the world.
