Visit of the Working Group for Interreligious Dialogue
On May 29, the working group for interreligious dialogue for largest gathering of young people from around the world with the Pope convened at the headquarters of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) for World Youth Day (WYD) Lisbon 2023.
D. Américo Aguiar, President of the WYD Lisbon 2023 Foundation, emphasized the invitation extended to people of all religions for World Youth Day Lisbon 2023.
We will extend the invitation to young people from diverse religious denominations. Lisbon and other dioceses already have a history of dialogue and collaboration, which we aim to continue.
Representatives from various religious organizations were present, including the Portuguese Evangelical Alliance, the Buddah's Light International Association of Lisbon, the Bahá'í Community of Portugal, the Hindu Community of Portugal, the Islamic Community of Lisbon, the Ismaili Community of Lisbon, the Israeli Community of Lisbon, Roman Catholic Apostolic Church (Lisbon Patriarchate), Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Portugal - Mormons, Lusitanian Catholic Apostolic Evangelical Church (Anglican Communion), Portuguese Buddhist Union, Portuguese Union of Seventh Day Adventists, Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Portugal.

The visit began with the unveiling of a plaque to commemorate this significant moment. It was followed by a tour of the WYD Lisbon 2023 Headquarters, where the representatives had the opportunity to meet with the various departments, volunteers, and employees of the LOC, who work every day to organize the largest gathering of young people from around the world with the Pope.
