The patients of the Immaculate Institute for People with Special Needs visited, on June 29, the headquarters of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) for World Youth Day (WYD) Lisbon 2023.

From this institute there are already ten pilgrims registered to participate in WYD Lisbon 2023, including seven patients with motor, intellectual, hearing and visual impairments. Throughout the year, the pastoral preparation has been carried out by the institution itself, so that all may participate in the Central Events of the largest gathering of young people from all over the world with the Pope.

WYD Lisbon 2023 also values inclusion and respect for all pilgrims, seeking to build a meeting of all for all. Welcoming disability is present in all the decisions of the Local Organizing Committee, which seeks to ensure accessibility in the places intended for activities and in the spaces provided for accommodation.
