Vatican presents a WYD commemorative stamp
The Vatican presented today, May 15th, the commemorative stamp and seal of the World Youth Day (WYD) Lisbon 2023.
The stamp, which will be issued starting tomorrow, May 16th, was designed by Stefano Morri and, as presented by the Dicastery for the Laity, the Family and Life, represents Pope Francis at the prow of a boat, guiding young people into the future. The aim is to emphasize the importance of following a path of discernment, with readiness, but never anxious.
The design of the rosary is in keeping with Pope Francis' message to the young people registered for WYD Lisbon 2023, where the Holy Father wishes that "in this encounter, in this Day, always learn to look to the horizon, to always look beyond. Do not put up a wall in front of your life. Walls close you in, the horizon makes you grow. Always look to the horizon with your eyes, but above all look with your heart. Open your heart to other cultures, to other boys and girls who also come to this day.
The seal will represent the logo of the World Youth Day Lisbon 2023, in a circular shape, and will be used by the "Arco delle Campane" post office on 16th and 17th of May.
