See you in August 2023!
Scheduled to take place from 1 to 6 August next year, the World Youth Day (WYD) Lisbon 2023 Foundation marks, with the launch of a campaign, the symbolic date of one year for the meeting that will bring together thousands of young people from around the world withPope Francis in the city of Lisbon.
Through the commemorative campaign with the Pope Francis and is based on the motto “See you in August 2023!”, everyone is invited to participate and to be involved in this Journey, which is, at the same time, a pilgrimage, a party of youth determined to build a more just and supportive world.
“One year before WYD Lisbon 2023 I recall the invitation to all Portuguese to welcome in our homes, villages, towns and cities, the youth of the whole world”, is the message of the president of the WYD Lisboa 2023 Foundation, D. Américo Aguiar, on this date.
Through billboards and a strong presence in digital media, the WYD Lisboa 2023 campaign calls for everyone to participate in this global meeting of young people. On social networks there is also an action with the title “30 days, 30 questions about WYD”, in order to clarify doubts about this meeting. A special newsletter is also available on this celebration which can be subscribed here.
In a video message released in March (watch here), Pope Francis said he prayed “that this meeting will be a fruitful meeting in which each of us does better than we have arrived.”
Registration for WYD Lisbon 2023 opens after the summer. All information about the process will be available on the official website lisboa2023.org.
