“Hay prisa en el Aire” – the Latin American version of WYD Lisbon 2023 official theme song
After the presentation of the official theme song of WYD Lisbon 2023 “Há pressa no ar”, in the beginning of the year, the latin version of the song is going to be presented on 29th June, on St. Peter and St.Paul’s day, produced by the previous organization of WYD, in Panamá, in 2019. An incredibly significant moment for everyone that shows the deep connection between Lisbon and Panamá organizations, being one more step to reinforce the invitation for all Latin American young people to participate in this event in Lisbon, in 2023.
The musical arrangement was made by Aníbal Muñoz, arranger, and producer of the song “Hágase en mí según tu palabra”, the official theme song for WYD Panamá 2019, and it can be said that different genres of this Latin American region can be found.
“It’s a short but interesting route which has the lyrics and the melody of the original theme song as a connector. It started with “Pop”, with electronic elements that lead us to the choir where we start to feel “Urban Pop”. We quickly move to the “Cumbia Panameña”, where we listen to the typical drums of Panamá, as well as the güiro and the accordion. From there we move to the “Roots” genre where the style of the Caribbean Island is highlighted. In the following choir we move to “Salsa”, that with conga and timbal show the rhythmic joy of this genre”, the producer added about the realization of this version.
Besides this, Aníbal Muñoz comments that the providential choice of the soloists was very important since each one of them was specialized on the interpreted genre; they gave an important final detail in this tropical trip of the official theme song and we hope this can motivate to the participation in this important event of our Catholic Church: WYD in Portugal.
